If we’re just meeting for the first time, hi lovely! My name is Ebonie Hyland, and I’m a writer from South West Victoria.

I’m a Mum on a mission to find the best eco-friendly, vegan, ethical products that are accessible here in Australia.

I started Eco Ebs because I was overwhelmed with choice, and realised how many others were too. It’s not a bad problem to have by any means, trying to decide what products are the best out of so many wonderful options!

It might seem completely frivolous — no one truly needs makeup or skin-care, and there are certainly so many more important concerns in this world. But that’s just the thing — choosing brands that are ethical and eco-friendly helps the environment and all living beings too.

The beauty industry is huge for a reason. I relish doing my makeup and skin-care as it gives me a few moments to myself as a busy Mum. Even if my toddler distracts or interrupts me 99 times in the process, it’s still fun!

Unfortunately, most of the industry is so wasteful, not every brand is vegan, cruelty-free, or ethical, and overconsumption is running rampant. It’s far too easy to buy the wrong product too.

There are so many amazing brands that are leading the way in revolutionising this otherwise wasteful industry. Brands that are doing all they can to be more sustainable. Brands that put people before profits, and that ethically create their products and support their workers. Brands that never test on animals and offer countless vegan options, by formulating products that contain no animal derivatives.
